Welcome to Parent Like An Athlete, where we believe the best way to raise winning children is to unleash the winner in every parent. We’re doing our part by sharing elite-athlete principles to help parents become well-adjusted, mentally balanced competitors so their kids can learn from them and gain an “unfair” edge over their peers.

We’re keeping it simple. We offer free videos and articles designed to share helpful personal and parenting insights from people who apply the athlete mindset to parenting. We also provide free parenting-related product reviews that don’t take forever to point you toward products that meet your needs.

Life feels fair for those who are prepared.

Life isn’t fair. Anyone who’s dealt with the unexpected loss of health, finances, or loved ones can relate. But we all are faced with devastating loss at some point in our life. Many get through these difficulties with greater perspective and appreciation for life. Many get stuck in a doom spiral of self-loathing and depression. And if you’re not doing so well, it feels like the people who are better off seem to be insensitive at the least and rubbing it in your face at the worst.

That said, we believe there is a way forward, especially for parents, no matter how difficult things get. Parent Like an Athlete was created to help remind winners like you that you were built for this, and your success as a parent primarily depends on the version of you that shows up every day.

When we consistently develop the 6Fs—Faith, Family, Fitness, Focus, Friendships, and Finances—we will be prepared to take full advantage of opportunities to be the parents our children need and have uncommon resilience in the face of hard times that are certain to come.

About the founder.

My name is Otis Grigsby. I’m a 6-year veteran of the National Football League, a lawyer, interior designer, untrained chef, and aspiring farmer who primarily cares about showing up to make his beautiful wife and kids’ lives better every day. I’m focused on giving my family an “unfair” advantage, but I want my kids to grow up around a community of people creating and leveraging their own “unfair” advantages.
